If you haven’t experienced Ruby Ranch, it’s a must-see for so many reasons. Tucked into rolling corn fields in Pemberton, Minnesota, it’s a hidden gem with a talented owner that lets you experience the true beauty of their farm and animals. Our first time going to Ruby Ranch was July of 2020, when the owner, Ashley, created a farm escape experience. She went out of her way to ensure that every member of our family enjoyed themselves…despite us not escaping in time. Since then, Ruby Ranch has evolved, becoming a preschool and offering opportunities for field trips, summer camps, and open hours. When we attended an open hour one of the first summers they were offered, we enjoyed petting and feeding various farm animals. Again, Ashley ensured that every member of our family had a fun time, while teaching all different facts about the animals and the farm. Other activities included a tractor ride, outdoor games, a chance to picnic on the farm, unique playing experiences throughout nature, and horse rides. We got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help paint a piece of the farm when we attended (this was just for that open hour) and Ashley is always thinking of new ways to incorporate fun and learning into Ruby Ranch. Not only does Ruby Ranch provide meaningful time in nature, but they also have an art studio where children and adults can paint ceramics, canvas paintings, birdhouses and wooden signs for an additional charge. Open hours dates, times, and information can be found on their facebook page or on their website rubyranchbarn.com .
