Did you know that every first Saturday of the month, Home Depot offers a kid’s workshop from 9am to 12pm? Yep, I always forget about this complete gem of an activity to do with your children. Not only does it actually teach life skills to your child (I mean, we all want our kids to know how to hammer something without hitting a finger), but it’s also FREE! Every month is a different project and there is no catch. The first month we went, we arrived closer to the end time, so the store just gave us the project to take home. Almost all parts that you need are included in the project bag, besides usual things that you would have laying around at home (screwdriver, hammer, paint, etc.) Next time, we went earlier and were able to sit and make the project. For those of you not super handy (like me!), the instructions are simple and people were willing to help me with questions. It was great to get better at a skill, right alongside my kids. We took our oldest two kids (7 and 4) to each of these and they were able to participate, but we saw kids of all ages trying their skills at the workshop. This last workshop, we made table top bean bag tosses. My kids LOVED them and haven’t stop playing with them since. Hope you enjoy some of these workshops as much as we have!
