T-Rex Cookie Kitchen

If you have a dinosaur lover or cookie lover in your family, this place is a must-visit! A few years ago, my mom had heard about T-Rex Cookies in the Ridgedale mall. So, we took a visit there. T-Rex Cookies are famous for their 1/2 pound (you read that, right!) cookies. You can imagine my look of shock when I ran to a store after we stopped by the kiosk and then, met my husband and kids back at the car…with the cookies almost gone! When I kind of calmly explained to my husband they were half-pound cookies, his eyes widened as he mumbled a “whoops…they were just so good!” My son adored the tiny details of dinosaurs they had put into the kiosk back then. He had talked about visiting T-Rex cookies so much that when my mom found them for sale at a grocery store, she instantly had to buy him a bag. Yes, their famous cookies can be purchased at Cub, Target, Hy-Vee, and Minny Row Market.

When I found out they had opened a store in Eagan, it was a no-brainer that we had to visit! Their cookies are ever-changing in kinds and I love seeing the unique combinations that their owner creates. At an affordable price of $5 each, this is a delicious treat that really doesn’t break the bank. The kinds our family decided to try were Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Sugar, and Caramel Oreo. We also, decided to get a pack of day old or broken cookies, which was 2 cookies for $4.50 to freeze for home! Such a steal! In the two-pack, we got snickerdoodle and caramel oreo. I can confirm that every single person in our family liked each flavor and asked if we could visit again.

As for the dinosaur appeal, walking into the store, there is a giant turquoise dinosaur in the front. Of course, all of my dinosaur lovers enjoyed taking a picture next to it. In the store itself, despite not being a huge store, there were many little dinosaur details that my son enjoyed. There was also, T-Rex cookie merchandise, some dinosaur toys to purchase, and even dinosaur earrings. Since my son is such a die-hard dinosaur fan, I had to do what most moms in my position would: buy some dinosaur earrings here! Such a fun place! The store is named after the owner…Tina Rexing. I love how many unique ways she used dinosaurs in the store to make it an exciting experience for all. After we bought our cookies and earrings, the kids got to pick a small dinosaur each with the purchase. All three kids were so enthusiastic about picking and keeping their own.

Overall, this is definitely a place to visit for dinosaur and/or cookie fans! You will leave full and satisfied with a belly full of cookie. Kids will be ecstatic to bring home their dinosaur souvenir. Another exciting aspect of T-Rex cookies if you need your cookie craving met without going to Eagan or Ridgedale, is their cookies are now being sold in more and more places. Look for them at US Bank Stadium, in several grocery stores, and in a few breweries.
