This place is a jackpot for kids on winter days, windy days, and extremely hot days. My family loves indoor playgrounds as a way to get our energy out, enjoy some time together outside of the house, and meet friends. New Ulm Recreation Center is a great location for all of these things. The best part about it is that it’s only $3 a child (over 12 months) to play. If you buy a punch card, it’s $27 for 12 punches, coming out to $2.25 a visit. Such a steal in comparison to most other indoor playground locations!

For older kids, there is a large tree climbing structure and a high playground structure. Our 1.5 year old was able to maneuver through most of it with the help of her siblings, although she loves to climb! Younger kids also, have a safe smaller play area with cushy things to climb in and a fake log to climb through. At some point during our play, all three of my kids end up in this area with my youngest. If you’re looking for a full afternoon of things to do, there is also a great swimming pool at the recreation center. There’s a window looking right into it from the playground. This pool has a zero entry area, two water slides, and a ninja water course. There would be an additional fee to go swimming.

A few notes for an enjoyable experience:
*Wear socks!
*No food or beverages are allowed in the play area.
