Botanist- Mountain Lake, MN

If you’re looking for a unique spot for a gourmet milkshake, your family needs to try the Botanist in Mountain Lake. Wondering where Mountain Lake is? It’s right off Highway 60, about 10 miles north of Windom and 55 miles south of Mankato. Located in the heart of downtown Mountain Lake, this location used to be an old bank. The vault is still there and makes for interesting conversation. Along with amazing milkshakes, they also have alcoholic drinks (if that’s what you’re interested in), mocktails, and delicious snacks. Their milkshakes are huge, incredibly delicious, and fun with little candies or treats on top. We have enjoyed each kind within our family. My personal favorite is the strawberry unicorn milkshake. Their specials change monthly, so you can look forward to trying something different each time you go. One of my other favorite parts of stopping at the Botanist is the owner. Both times we visited, the owner was personable, kind, and goes out of his way to ensure that every family member has an enjoyable experience. It’s very obvious that he loves what he does. Be sure to stop and take some pictures with the beautiful murals painted around town and enjoy a walk around the pretty Mountain Lake. Definitely worth a visit!
