Three Indoor Playgrounds to visit this spring!

Since our winter was much shorter/not really existent as compared to a normal winter, I feel like we never fully utilized the indoor playgrounds like we normally do. As we venture into spring weather and battle some mud/allergies, indoor playgrounds are a great option year-round! Here are three of our favorite indoor playgrounds in the Twin Cities area:

Williston Tree House: Minnetonka

We came here for the first time when our oldest child was two years old. It quickly became a favorite for the whole family. As we continued to add kids, we’ve continued to visit and it never disappoints! Tucked into the Williston Fitness Center, this is an incredibly clean and quiet atmosphere. Our oldest child, especially when he was younger, definitely got overwhelmed with a lot of stimulation. We were so thankful at how quiet and low-key the environment is at Williston. At first, we thought it was a fluke. Many of us know that indoor playgrounds can quickly become loud, overwhelming spots with the right mix of kids. Yet, every time that we have visited besides one visit, we have been pleasantly surprised at the calm at Williston. Another bonus for this wonderful indoor playground is that there is only one entrance/exit. If you have a runner or multiple kids, this is always such a comfort for parents. Conveniently right outside of the party room connected to the Tree House, restrooms and a drinking fountain are located.

For the play structure, this is a great spot for all ages! There is a toddler area with appropriate climbing, sliding, and exploring areas. Yet, almost all of my kids could climb safely up in the larger kid area around this age as well. Some of their favorite spots include: a tree that you climb inside and up, three giant blue slides, and a ninja-like area where kids try to not touch the ground with a small zipline, gymnastics rings, and other pieces. Benches line up around the tree house, yet it is also easy for you to maneuver through any spots in the playground if your child needs your help. This indoor playground is definitely worth a stop!

Prairie Play Zone: Eden Prairie

This gem we just tried for the first time this year and it was another hit! Despite growing up in this area, I had no idea this place existed. Located inside the Eden Prairie Community Center, this indoor playground offers half off times for kids to play! At the time we took our kids, they were 7, 5, and 1. So, for half-off time, they all got to play for $7 total. What a steal!

Again, this spot had a small toddler play area which our little one did love. There was a small slide, blocks, some ride-on-toys and several other things to play with. This indoor playground did have a small rock climbing wall and three slides up in the older kid’s area. Several unique features such as a giant steering wheel and a tunnel that went outside of the play area and then, came back were favorites of my kids. There was only one slide to get down that was a large slide or a climbing area to get down. So, if you have younger kids who went up it and couldn’t get down, they might need your assistance. Our three kids played here for two hours and could have played much longer. It definitely kept all three entertained! There were a few small benches for adults to sit, as well as a table right outside the door.

Rainbow Play Systems: Bloomington

We went to this spot for the first time last year and absolutely loved it! It’s a showroom for Rainbow Play Systems Playgrounds, yet you can pay to have your kids play for two hours there. Such a unique experience for them! Not only do they have playgrounds, but they also have basketball hoops (which was a hit for my son) and trampolines. Trampolines are very protected, but you do have to sign a waiver for each child before playing. This location also, had a large ship that kids could play inside and they seemed to really enjoy that as well. Despite many of the play systems being similar, each one is unique enough that the kids jumped from one to the other throughout their play. With ease, the kids were able to play for all two hours without getting bored.

Besides, paying for the one time pass, there is a yearly pass for $149 for one child and an additional $25 for each child. Also, there is a punch pass where you pay $56 for 10 punch passes. No food or drink is allowed on the show floor, but there is an eating area if you wish to bring snacks. Last, kids must wear shoes or socks the entire time while playing. This is definitely a spot you’ll want to check out with your family! Pictures will be uploaded soon.

Admission: $8 per child, under 12 months free!

Hours: Monday thru Friday: 10am-3pm (2 hour play slots)

Location: 900 W 80th St, Minneapolis, MN 55420

Hope these three indoor playgrounds can bring your family some fun memories and times!

Until my next adventure,

Allie
