If you are from Southern Minnesota, you know Mankato is the one stop destination. The town has so much jam packed in, which makes it an easy spot to hit all of your favorites. Yet, until this point, they didn’t have a Lego store. Just recently, Bricks & Minifigs Mankato opened. Located conveniently right off Madison Avenue, this store is a tiny oasis of everything Lego you can imagine! Impatiently waiting for the grand opening, I watched the store get set up on their social media accounts. Despite thinking I had an idea of what it would look like inside, it was far better than I had imagined. Visions of a small Lego store had danced in my head, yet this wasn’t the reality when I visited.

Entering the store, you are greeted with lots of space and more Legos than you thought were possible to be in a store. Bricks & Minifigs has brand new kits, used kits that are in amazing shape, new mini figs including pretty much any figure you could ever want and Lego accessories. My daughter loved the Lego hair barrettes. On the other hand, my son is an avid Lego lover and his room contains an excessive amount of Legos. While we walked through the store, he was amazed at the wide variety of kits and minifigs. Besides selling legos, they also buy and trade Legos during all store hours without an appointment necessary. So, if you’ve got extra legos not being used sitting at home, pack those suckers up to sell them.

Making it an even more enjoyable experience, there is a small kid’s play area to help kids stay regulated and probably out of trouble. A Lego bench is also, a part of the store which my kids thought was very cool. Last, there is a party area, complete with a Lego throne, for birthday parties. This would be a perfect and unique location for your child’s next birthday, no matter their age.

During our visit, we were able to meet the owner, Greta. She was incredibly kind and great with my kids. They were excited to share their favorite parts of the store with her while also, learning more about birthday parties and selling Legos to the store. Many employees were present in the store on the day that we visited and all of them were helpful. One aspect of the store that I truly enjoyed was the wide variety of people visiting. As many people realize, Legos are for all ages. What a joy to watch mothers and sons, families, dads and daughters, and all ages of friends experience a store devoted to their common interests with no age barrier.

Most of our time at the store was spent perusing the minifigs bins with both of our daughters (ages 3 and 6), while they built their own minifig to buy. Both girls were equally excited to customize their Lego. Unique features were prominent in both of their choices. I can’t even fathom the number of different combinations that are available for making your minifig personal. All three kids are already saving their money to return and buy more Legos.

Here are the store details:

Overall, Bricks & Minifigs is a true delight to have in Mankato so, Lego lovers don’t have to trek all the way up to the cities in order to get a fix of their favorite treasures. Make sure to check out the store frequently to see their newest buys and creations. How fun to have an ever-changing store as people sell and buy! Don’t forget your child’s next birthday party could be a hit at Bricks & Minifigs Mankato too!
Until my next adventure,
Allie
