The ideal location for Baseball lovers!

My husband (and son) love baseball, so naturally when it came time to pick a birthday experience for my husband…I turned to baseball options. Being die-hard New York Yankees fans (please don’t let that prevent you from reading the rest of my blog), I knew he wouldn’t want Twins tickets or even St. Paul Saints tickets. So, I had to think outside the box…enter The Ball Park-Twin Cities. Think Top Golf, but for baseball. After some social media influence and some research, it was decided this was the perfect spot to celebrate.

Recently opened, this expansive, beautiful restaurant boasts an array of seating with delectable food and drinks available. Any and all sporting events that you could want to watch are on and fill the televisions throughout The Ball Park. The best part of the restaurant is located near the back in bays. Each bay allows your imagination to travel across the country to any MLB stadium you desire and even some collegiate stadiums where you can practice and swing with the best as balls are pitched to you. Immersed in the experience, you can participate in games, competitions, or even just batting practice within the bay. Speeds and angles can be adjusted as needed to make every person, no matter their age or ability, successful. Before beginning the experience, you will get a full rundown of the bay and machine to ensure your time is well spent.

Naturally, my husband and son chose the Yankee Stadium as their backdrop. All five of us, including our youngest being three years old, got to bat. I won’t say all of us were as dominating as others, but I will let you determine which family members were the stars of the show. Just a hint…I had no idea you had to squat so much in a batting stance. Every family member had fun and enjoyed our time here. Although, if you don’t normally play baseball, you will be sore the next day. Plan accordingly.

They provided bats if you needed them or you could bring your own to practice. Unlike most batting cages, this was not an intimidating experience. The machine was not loud or scary, but instead just felt like an actual pitch with a visual warning that it would be coming out shortly. At any point, you could adjust what you were doing or playing to make your time most enjoyable.

While we were batting, we chose to order some light food as well. The kids got a chicken strip basket to split and we got a nacho for the table. Later, we ordered baseball hat ice cream dishes. All of the food was mouth-watering good and we will definitely have to try a full meal here at some point.

During our time at The Ball Park-Twin Cities, we had the privilege of having the owner, a veteran, help us from the beginning to the end of our time. Not only was he extremely kind and generous, but he truly made the experience. He took the time to talk to us, get to know us, and even chat with our kids. By the end, our youngest was treating him just like a best friend. So often in large businesses, the relationship part of the business is lost. Clearly, this is not the case here. It’s very evident the owner cares and wants the best experience for every person who steps into his work. In all honesty, we would go back to this business solely based on the experience with the owner, let alone that we LOVED our time batting here.

A few tips for a successful trip to The Ball Park-Twin Cities:

*Book a bay ahead of time.

* Bring your own bat if you have one that you regularly use.

*Come hungry and thirsty…they have lots of delicious food and drink options!

*Listen to the directions when they explain them to your group.

*If possible, come on weekdays and near opening time for smaller crowds.
